The church, which is also called the body of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again persons. God created man to live in community, and the church is the expression of that community. The universal church consists of everyone who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ. The local church is a subset of the universal church and consists of a group of Christians who meet regularly in a particular location.
